Comm 317 Media Law & Ethics

Clearest point that you have learned in 317?

Most confusing point you….?

What would you like to learn next as we go on?

1. The clearest point that I had seen is that this class (and that speech you made at the beginning of class) has made me want to get my law degree. The world of media law is huge and only going to get bigger.

2. The most confusing thing about media law is not getting lost. There is a lot of crap out there. I think that it is only a matter of time before I can sort threw it all and find the journalism that I know is still out there, maybe.

3. I don’t feel that I have the right to say what we should learn next. I do want it to be something that all of us can sink our teeth into, and find interesting. That doesn’t mean more on Brittney Spears either.

The law is an awfully good career option. Law school is boring, but there's always demand for lawyers. And the work can be interesting. A lot of opportunity to combine it with media, too, not only First Amen dment stuff but also copyright, intellectual property, etc.

Part of what that facts-law-issue outline they do when they brief a case is a way of cutting through all the crap.
