His Girl Friday

The beginning reminded me of a Buggs Bunny cartoon, but then bam, right into mid-day at the morning post. Then she entered the room. Hilda by the looks of it she is in power. Every woman wants to be her, and every man wants to be with her. I was abruptly reminded of how relevant smoking was in movies before it became bad for you. Even though it is an older movie it is still funny.

They talk about divorce like we would today. Women have personalities, and play a major role in the power holders in the movie.

Very funny humor, I like the back and forth dialog between the Hilda, her ex-boy, her old boss, and her new faïence the insurance man.

Walter is very cunning, and knows how to manipulate people into doing what he wants then to do.

I thought buy this part it is a very funny movie. I like how the writers and directors did a very good job of bridging the gap of time without even trying.

Monday;
The way that journalist’s are portrayed in this movie are not very good. There is a quote in the movie from a journalist, “Were did you come up with that ethics stuff.”

We see journalist trying to steal money after making a legit deal. We see them verbally abusing women, telling one to stop talking and take her shirt off.

Journalists are also portrayed as fast takers, shiesters, con artistes. They will make up details about a story to make it better. The journalists in the movie bad mouth the politicians to their faces.

The politicians are portrayed the same way that the journalists are.

“All they been doing is writing LIES!!!!!!

Specifically This

I would have to say that in a literature and journalism class at the 3 hundo level, here at BU. I should expect to learn and understand the historical development of professional journalism, and see examples from England and the US. I should also expect to appraise journalistic principles and craftsmanship in authors who made the transition from journalism to literature. And if you are thinking that you are not going to learn to assess the professional attitudes, values and craft schedules of professional journalists writing in today’s society, then you wrong my friend. Finally I would have to say if the class doesn’t end with reflecting on how these attitudes, values and principles can inform us on our own professional writing, I will be @#$&!*% MAD!!!
